Farmville Dog Release

Release the Farmville Dogs Now!

Why has it taken Farmville so long to release dogs?

We have been asking for dogs now for a long time and one would imagine that on a farm dogs would be a standard animal available to players.

For as long as I've been playing the lovely developers at Zinga have kept us amused with a variety of different animals but no dogs! Are they anti dog people? Perhaps they sit firmly in the 'cat people' camp judging by the amount of kittens players had to have to get the cat lady ribbon.

There have been many strange and wonderful animals that farmville has presented to us, some I have embraced and some I have not liked so much.

I was especially disappointed when the clumsy reindeer for instance, did not fly! I kept them all the same mainly because of their Christmas lit antlers, although I never found them to be clumsy at all. Had Zinga thought to make them fall over every now and then they could have had more comedy value. Although Christmas is a distant memory I still have a few clumsy reindeer on my farm, huddled in with the wild turkeys that really serve no purpose whatsoever other than to fill in some space.

My many and varied calves- green, pink and brown are still wandering aimlessly around my dairy farm waiting for their promised purpose...will they grow into cows at any stage? I learnt my lesson when I deleted all my horses and the following day a stable was introduced and I had to find a whole lot more quickly. At least now I have some very cute foals which I hope something will happen to and a couple of donkeys for decoration. Im clearly leaning toward a baby animal collection.

I was interested to notice that the rendering of the animals often differs dramatically and I'm always drawn to the more lifelike animals, hence, I got rid of my ducks. After months of (ironically I thought) having them all in a row, I replaced them with Canadian geese which were much more lifelike but without a sense of irony I suppose. Life can become quite tedious on the farm sometimes!

I'm hoping the dogs that eventuate shortly will also be cute but lifelike and actually do something more than sitting around my farm. How about herding, keeping strangers at bay or biting the odd sheep and having to be put out of their frenzied misery. Another suggestion is to take your best farmdog to a sheep trial and introduce some kind of competitive element on the farm. Come on Zinga, its time to let those dogs loose.
